About Big Bear

Serious adventure seekers will enjoy rock climbing in Holcomb Valley and camping throughout the surrounding National Forest. These mountains are riddled with hiking and mountain biking trails. Nature hikers have spotted bald eagles, coyotes, and an occasional bobcat. Locals also have stories of bear raiding their garbage.

Visitors to the Valley find the summer filled with art shows, car shows and chili contests. There’s always something to do in this beautiful Valley!

Big Bear also home to a rescue zoo that is has to two snow leopards. Our part time Museum houses over a million artifacts, and the Discovery Center offers nature tours and loads of local information.

Although 90 miles east of Los Angeles, Big Bear enjoys clean air and exquisite blue skies. It is possible to live a healthy lifestyle, especially with a weekly Farmers Market, surrounded by the beauty of the National Forest.
